Mission Statement
Our mission is to promote the sport of pliking - Picking up Litter while hIKING . Pliking builds clean, healthy and safe communities; increases physical fitness; develops strong relationships from working together; and nurtures a sense of meaning and purpose while beautifying the environment.
Description
We started in 2018 as a small Meetup group in Ogden, Utah, meeting 1-3 times a month to pick up trash on local trails. Since that time, we have contributed more than 3800 volunteer hours to our community and picked up thousands of bags of trash. We have expanded our activities to include litter prevention through education.
Our programs include:
- Pliking Club of Ogden, with year-round cleanup events that include pruning and graffiti removal
- Litter Awareness Booths and Surveys, which offer education and cleanup supplies
- Presentations to local schools and civic groups
- Website and Facebook page dedicated to litter education, as well as business and organization partnerships

Really friendly staff. Provided a great experience for me. I was able to create various posters, brochures, banners, and videos as a graphic design volunteer.
