AccentCare Hospice of Pasco County is currently seeking compassionate members of our community to call patients each week to "tuck them in" for the weekend! By becoming a volunteer, you'll have the opportunity to provide social and emotional support to seniors in need, brightening their day and making a positive impact on their lives. Our Circle of Care volunteers call patients on Wednesdays or Thursdays to see how they and their caregivers are doing, see if they need any medications or supplies ordered, and lend a much-needed ear to those who need support. This is a virtual opportunity and can be completed from the comfort of your own home. Additional online training will be provided to prepare you for this role. We are currently looking for help with the following: Respite Volunteers - provide 1-4 hour long visits to patients, allowing family caregivers to make a much-needed break and time for themselves. Veteran Volunteers - connect with your fellow servicemen and women in a way others cannot, celebrating their service and their lives. Music Companion and Spiritual Companion Volunteers - share your musical talent or spiritual comfort with patients and families to brighten their days. Art Classes/Crafting Volunteers - visit patient homes or facilities and facilitate fun crafting or art classes. Legacy Volunteers - visit patients in homes and assisted living facilities, using creative and artistic skills to create a legacy project that will help families remember their loved ones. Pet Therapy Volunteers - certified therapy animals can accompany you on visits to provide comfort and joy to patients. Massage/Reiki Volunteers - licensed massage therapists or certified Reiki masters can visit patients to provide soothing relief. Cosmetology Volunteers - licensed cosmetologists can visit homebound patients for hair and nail services to make them feel their best.
