Mission Statement

Our Mission Statement for the Early Settlement Mediation - West Program is to assist the citizens of Canadian and Grady counties in dispute resolution. We will facilitate in an informal and effective way to reach an agreement between the parties. We strive to reduce the overburdened caseload within our court system as an alternative to litigation.

Description

Early Settlement Mediation is a dispute resolution program that works for the Administrative Office of the Courts to provide a fast, fair, free way to settle conflicts. As a volunteer for our program you will be trained in facilitating a mediation between parties. You must be able to remain neutral and maintain control in potentially highly charged and emotional situations. It is incredibly rewarding to be able to facilitate the process and empower the parties to find workable solutions for their unique situations, all while giving the parties a chance to avoid paying the cost of filing fees and court costs.
