Mission Statement
To promote successful aging in the Madison community. What is successful aging? We follow a model outlined by Doctors J.W. Rowe and R.L. Kahn in their book, Successful Aging (1999). There are three key components: Avoiding Disease Engagement with Life Maintaining High Cognitive and Physical Function At the Senior Center, we engage older adults as leaders, teachers and learners to support and balance these goals.
Description
Madison Senior Center, involves older adults in their community and the Senior Center, as leaders, teachers and learners; provides a balance, diverse and coordinated program; and promotes the Senior Center as a model for the aging and aged. The Madison Senior Center’s goal is to promote successful aging. We offer a wide variety of classes and activities to anyone age 55 and older.
