Mission Statement

The Lost Towns Project was formed to promote, facilitate and enable preservation, discovery, academic study, appreciation, and stewardship of public and privately-owned cultural resources, historic structures, and archaeological sites in Anne Arundel County, Maryland, and the Mid-Atlantic region by supporting the technical, scholarly, and intellectual work of academics, professionals, and students, facilitating public outreach efforts, and internship and volunteer opportunities.

Description

The Lost Towns Project works with partners across Anne Arundel County and beyond to conduct archaeological and historical research into the area's past. We have opportunities for volunteers to participate in the archaeological process in the field or laboratory, as well as numerous public events throughout the year.
