Are you wanting to share music with a dying patient? Music can invoke such memories of one's youth and joyful times. Music can, also, help with pain management. Compassus is seeking individuals who would be willing to visit with a patient either in their home or a facility and provide them with companionship through the gift of music. Hospice is about giving comfort, hope and improving quality of life during an individual's last months. Whether you play and instrument, sing or are able to utilize your phone, giving the gift of music not only enrich the patient's life but your own! If you have a heart full of compassion, we would love to speak with you about sharing your musical talents with some of our patients. Compassus provides a comprehensive training and orientation. Background checks and TB tests are paid for by Compassus.

Compassus Palliative and Hospice Care will provide you the training and support to make a true difference in the lives of others. Visit patients and families at home, nursing homes, assisted living facilities, inpatient hospice units. Pay a friendly visit; relieve a family caregiver for an afternoon out; read aloud; listen to memories; walk the dog; be the high point of someone’s day. Hospice is about giving comfort and hope and improving quality of life during an individual's last months of life. This is an opportunity to provide a most amazing service to our patients at the very end of life who might have no one to sit with them; to families that would like company/support at the bedside of their loved ones at the final moments; and to facility staff who are unable to sit with dying patients but want to assure that their patients have someone by their side. We are looking for volunteers to join our 11th Hour / Vigil Volunteer team. 11th Hour volunteers are available to sit bedside with our patients who are actively dying in shifts of 1-4 hours. The 11th Hour volunteers provide support, in shifts, over a period of 24 hours or up to several days. An 11th hour volunteer does not require a regular schedule of visits for patients; instead, 11th hour volunteers provide intermittent visits over short, but intense periods of time.
