CVJP is a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting both current and former members of the US military in their pursuit of alternative sentencing and diversion options, as well as providing essential services. Our internships offer students a unique opportunity to expand their educational horizons beyond the classroom and gain valuable experience in a professional setting. The primary goal of our volunteer program is to provide interns with hands-on learning experiences and the chance to develop practical skills in a professional context. As an applicant, you can anticipate the following benefits: Orientation and training to familiarize you with the project. Involvement in client intakes and follow-up procedures. Exposure to tracking criminal and non-criminal cases. The potential for broader experiences, including opportunities in grant writing, communications, articles, social media management, marketing, public relations, and more. CVJP has previously hosted interns from diverse educational backgrounds, including Master of Social Work students, Law Clerks, peer volunteers, business students, and more. We welcome individuals with a wide range of skills and will collaborate with you to tailor your internship to align with both your career development goals and the current needs of the project. The Community Veteran’s Justice Project (CVJP) strives to identify, reach, and provide one-on-one comprehensive community support to military personnel and veterans currently navigating the legal system of Los Angeles County: ensuring equity, justice, and rehabilitation. We seek to help our heroes reclaim their lives and obtain comprehensive services so they may thrive toward long-term success and well-being.
