Purpose: The purpose of this position is to restock shelves and racks that have been emptied and to thoroughly stock the main shopping area before the start of the client shopping experience. Nature of job/Responsibilities: Verify that the main shopping areas are thoroughly stocked. Collect empty hangers that may be left on the racks. Restock overflow ("put back") items and empty hangers from the checkout area. Assist with displays and seasonal clothing transitions. Greet guests (anyone who comes in) and respond to general inquiries as able. Qualifications: Kind, welcoming, hospitable, friendly. Enjoys talking to people of all backgrounds. Attentive to detail Please note: FGHC is not able to welcome volunteers who are looking to complete court ordered community service.

Father Gene's Help Center is seeking detail oriented and decisive individuals to help sort donations that we receive from community members. We are looking for individuals to cover a weekly shift from 9 am to 12 pm or from 12 pm to 3 pm, once a week. Duties include: Initial Sort: Open bags/boxes of donations and, taking one item at a time, quickly determine if the item is a good fit for our clients (clean, no tears, no stains, zippers work, has all the buttons). Stocking: Take sorted items that we will keep and neatly fold or hang the items and stock them onto their appropriate/respective shelves and racks. Donation Acceptance: Assist donors who are dropping off bags and boxes of clothing donations. Opportunities are also available for groups. Help facilitate the client shopping experience! Client Shopping Assistants serve in the front & middle rooms of the center. They greet clients, assist in finding items clients are looking for, restock the floor as items are selected, fold, package, and record selected items at checkout. We serve client shoppers Monday through Thursday from 9 am to 2 pm. Please note: FGHC is not able to welcome volunteers who are looking to complete court ordered community service.

Purpose: The purpose of this position is to assist clients with check out. Nature of job/Responsibilities: Greet guests (anyone who comes in) and respond to general inquiries as able. Make sure the Check Out area is tidy before 9 am. When clients are ready to check out, do a quick count of the number of items to verify that the client has taken the allocated amount of items (or fewer). Do a quick fold of the items and neatly place them in a bag. Ask if there were any items that the client had trouble finding. Make note of specific items on the "Mis-Sales" Sheet. Record client check out data in their account/file. After closing at 2 pm, make sure that the Check Out area is tidy and stocked with supplies needed for the next shift and that all overflow ("put back") items have been restocked. Assist with general clean up in the front room. Qualifications: Kind, welcoming, hospitable, friendly. Enjoys talking to people of all backgrounds. Attentive to detail Has general computer skills Ability to say "no" when necessary Bilingual, if possible

Father Gene’s Help Center provides free clothing. We welcome donations of new or clean, gently used clothing for men, women, and children, of all shapes and sizes and redistribute the donated items.We believe in the radical power of clothing to transform people’s lives. We firmly believe that our clients possess many strengths and assets and trust that, with clean, dignified clothing, they will have the ability to better share their gifts with the world. We are convinced that every person deserves the right to clean clothing, and we strive to provide that right to those in need.
