SCORE is the nation’s largest network of volunteer, expert business mentors, who are dedicated to helping small businesses get off the ground, grow and achieve their goals. SCORE is funded in part through a Cooperative Agreement with the U.S. Small Business Administration. Chapter Chairs are one of the most critical volunteer roles to SCORE as they guide our chapters in our mission to serve small business needs throughout the country. As a local SCORE Chapter Chair, you would oversee chapter operations, set the vision and strategic direction for your chapter and focus all the enthusiasm of your volunteers into a successful organization to make a lasting impact to your community. Training and onboarding will be provided. The Chapter Chair volunteer role should also focus on: * Creating a diverse and inclusive culture * Inspiring your volunteers * Identifying opportunities & threats * Recruiting for growth Our Mission: To foster vibrant small business communities through mentoring and education. Our Vision: We aim to give every person the support they need to thrive as a small business owner. In 2021 alone, SCORE volunteers helped start 25,084 new businesses, produced 71,475 non-owner Jobs, and created a total of 96,559 new jobs. SCORE needs bi-lingual mentors who can help aspiring entrepreneurs and existing business owners whose first language is not English by providing business expertise, support, and the necessary tools to help them reach their goals. CHAPTER CHAIRPERSON Score’s Chapter Executive Chairperson will have overall strategic and operational responsibility for the Chapter’s Nonprofit staff, programs, expansion, and the execution of its mission. Responsibilities: Ensure ongoing local program excellence, rigorous program evaluation and consistent quality of finance, administration, fundraising, communications and systems. Recommend timelines and resources needed to achieve the strategic goals. Actively engage and energize the Chapter’s nonprofit volunteers, board members, alumni, partnering organizations and financial supporters. Lead, coach, develop and retain Score’s Nonprofit high-performance senior management team. Ensure effective systems to track progress, and regularly evaluate programs and measure successes that can be effectively communicated to the National organization, financial supporters and the community at large. MARKETING AND PUBLIC RELATIONS TEAM LEADER As the head of the Marketing Team the central role of the Executive is to develop a comprehensive marketing strategy and help build and lead the existing marketing team to implement that strategy. In addition, an important responsibility of a nonprofit Marketing Executive is to oversee the organization's public relations effort. The better the PR, the more the public is aware of the work we do to support small businesses and entrepreneurship in the community. This often results in higher donations, which in turn increase our ability to serve the public. FUNDRAISING AND COMMUNICATIONS TEAM LEADER Nonprofits acquire income from a variety of sources. Fundraising, including winning grants and gaining financial support from large and small donors in the community, is critically important. Expand local revenue-generating and fundraising activities to support existing programs and operations and regional expansion. Deepen and refine all aspects of communication - from web presence to external relation goals for creating a stronger brand.
