As the Email Communications Specialist, you would be assisting the chapter with internal & external communications via email. SCORE SE Wisconsin provides resources for free, or at minimal cost, to help small business owners expand and grow their business. By volunteering in this role, you would make a significant impact within your local community by ensuring that our clients are aware of upcoming or new workshops, events, and resources that could impact their small business. Familiarity with Constant Contact, an email marketing platform, is preferred but not required. Responsibilities: 1. Create workshop promotions in Constant Contact Ensure all workshop information entered is correct. This includes reviewing the following components of an event: -Registration page -Invitation email-Reminder email -Registration question The amount of time associated with this task can vary depending on whether a workshop is introducing a new topic, is an existing workshop that can be copied over, or an old workshop needing new branding. 2. Send email newsletters to distribution list -Weekly email featuring upcoming workshops and relevant resources -Monthly newsletter featuring local information -Miscellaneous email for special occasions 3. Conduct analysis and research Identify content for weekly newsletter and review data to gauge communication effectiveness (e.g., click rates, open rates) 4. Manage other tasks In this space you can include additional task such as participating in a weekly Zoom call discussing emails for the chapter. We are searching for an engaged and motivated individual to serve as our organization’s Event Chair to lead the planning, coordination, and execution of our chapter’s hosted/co-hosted events, partner events, and client/volunteer appreciation and/or networking events. This position is responsible for every part of hosted/co-hosted event and a portion of partner event preparations, from choosing venues, approving menus, enabling digital event registration and marketing, event sponsors, marshalling external and internal resources, and evaluating success afterward. The Event Chair will be a member of the chapter’s leadership team. A SCORE mentor is an adviser who helps individuals and small businesses reach their goals. Mentors provide free business advice and education to aspiring entrepreneurs and existing business owners. As a mentor, you’ll help clients solve problems, make businesses more efficient, and assist with developing long-term business plans. Additionally, you may discover new sources of insight and knowledge to help your own business and leadership style. Teaching others how to manage people or projects, along with illustrating ways to succeed in other aspects of business, could inspire you to continue with your own professional growth-all of this while helping your local community. The ideal mentor is empathetic, flexible, and loves connecting people to the right resources. Mentors often have significant experience within their field, excellent communication skills, and the ability to dedicate a few hours a week. At SCORE, we’re working to change that by removing those obstacles and providing minority-owned businesses with access to personalized support in our SCORE for All program: to meet business owners where they are and help them reach their business goals. As a mentor you will use your industry-based knowledge and expertise to help clients solve problems, increase business efficiency, and assist with developing long-term business plans.
