At Legacy Hospice, we are firm believers that our patients and their families come first to provide excellent care during this transitional period of time in life’s journey. We are currently seeking for volunteers to provide companionship through visitations to our patients. These visits will be one on one with patients that may engage in activities but not limited to: being a comforting and supportive presence, reminiscing life events, reading a story, playing music or singing, creating art projects, listening to patient’s concerns, and communicating the needs of the patient/family to hospice staff. We serve patients and their families throughout the Milwaukee, Waukesha, Jefferson, Dodge, Walworth, Racine, Kenosha county and surrounding areas. We are able to provide a flexible schedule dependent on the volunteers availability and proximity of available locations. We are currently searching for Music Therapy volunteers or volunteers with musical talents that would be interested in working with our patients. Volunteering plays a vital role in the hospice program, we look to our volunteers to provide a variety of support services to our patients. We serve patients all over Milwaukee, Waukesha, Jefferson, Dodge, Walworth, Racine, Kenosha county and surrounding areas. Seeking a companion who may want to engage in sharing stories, reminiscing about their time in the service, providing a light activity or getting outside for fresh air. We are currently seeking for volunteers with certified Therapy Dogs to visit with our patients throughout the Milwaukee, Waukesha, Jefferson, Dodge, Walworth, Racine, Kenosha county and surrounding areas. We are able to provide a flexible schedule dependent on the handler's schedule and proximity of available locations. These visits will be one on one with patients who will greatly benefit from a visit with a therapy dog. These sessions are demonstrated to have positive effects such as reduced anxiety and stress, increased feelings of relaxation, and an overall improved outlook through companionship.
