Mission Statement
We hope to restore a hidden treasure to share with the Rochester, NY community. The First National Bank is listed both on the National & State Registry of Historic Places. Originally constructed in 1860 and remodeled in 1924. It is one of the original parcels of Nathaniel Rochester. The 63 foot ceiling in the main atrium features 12 murals from world renown muralist Ezra Winter representing American occupations - many no longer exist. This exhibit will become a treasure for educators, museums and visitors to Rochester, NY. Need help restoring antique marble, reconstructing fireplaces located behind walls, restoring an antique flag pole, gathering historical information and history about the building (can be done virtually), grant writing and clerical functions. If you enjoy history then this is a space that you would love. In need of skilled trades, roof specialist, plumbing, demolition, restoration work, clerical, grant writing, developing humanities programming, docents.
Description
We are a newly formed 501C3 organization and in the process of building a Board of Directors. Our goal is to complete restoration within two years and develop humanities programs for the archives.
