The Minnesota People of Color LGBTQ Pride’s Mission: To support LGBTQ people of color by promoting awareness and acknowledging differences through education and community outreach. To create an information system for LGBTQ people of color to easily access allied services within Minnesota. To breakdown ethnic and cultural barriers to resources offered to individuals, families, allies, and friends of LGBTQ people of color primarily within the Twin Cities and surrounding communities. To create bridges between diverse groups of people of color, different cultures and mainstream LGBTQ associations to address the homeless youth crisis and cultivate networking opportunities for the many services and community organizations that serve LGBTQ people of color.
Description
The Minnesota People of Color LGBTQ Pride (MN POC Pride) was established collectively to form a 501C3 organization that is a viable, visible and a sustainable resource in the Twin Cities for empowering, advancing and strengthening our people of color LGBTQ communities in Minnesota. Our primary event collaboration is with the other groups of color, allies and support organizations. An annual, all-inclusive, sustainable, Black Pride Festival Weekend. A 3-day event in August, Friday to Sunday. This celebration recognizes the history, contributions and cultural influence from LGBTQAI people of color & supporting allies. Raising awareness, building community and promoting diversities with PRIDE!
