Mission Statement
Energy psychology (EP) is a collection of mind-body approaches for understanding and improving human functioning. EP is often extremely useful in helping people recover from trauma, as well as a wide-range of other emotional problems. The Association for Comprehensive Energy Psychology (ACEP) is a professional organization for licensed healthcare providers and allied health disciplines, which serves to organize and unify EP methods, provides professional support and education, and establishes ethical guidance in practice.
Description
ACEP is the largest international organization that promotes research and application of EP approaches, offering an indispensable network of resources for the public and media, a staunch advocate for members responsibly learning and applying EP models, and an influential presence helping shape mental health and healthcare practices.
Formed as a non-profit in 1999, ACEP has a global membership of over 1,200 licensed mental health professionals and allied health practitioners.
Within the ACEP organization is a family of integrative disciplines that apply energy-related concepts and models across multiple areas. There are both professional and lay disciplines under the ACEP umbrella that uniquely utilize this integrative approach in the healing and change process. ACEP members integrate mind-body-energy approaches into psychotherapy, healthcare, and coaching for the treatment and enhancement of emotional and physical health, and performance conditions.
ACEP works on behalf of its members to establish the credibility and efficacy of energy psychology methods through its programs of education, certification, ethics, humanitarian aid and research. By upholding standards of practice and a code of ethics for energy psychology practitioners, ACEP raises the bar of professionalism for this emerging field. ACEP also has ongoing initiatives to increase public awareness of the effectiveness and cost efficiency of these methods.
