Virtual Opportunity
Acquaint is an intercultural dialogue platform bringing together volunteers from over 100 countries to learn from each other’s stories, experiences, and perspectives. To better serve our international community, we are collaborating with researchers from top colleges to develop and study a series of free micro-courses designed to help participants strengthen essential communication skills. We need volunteers to help test, apply, and give feedback on these training modules to ensure they are as effective as possible for our global participants. Event Format: Group Participation: We welcome groups of 6 or more. To volunteer, please sign up at least six people from your organization, school, or club. Virtual Event: Hosted via Zoom, the event will include members of Acquaint’s team and international volunteer community. Duration: 2 hours Event Activities: This event is designed to be as fun and engaging as it is impactful. It’s a place for team-building and socializing while helping to create transformative learning opportunities for people worldwide. Intro: Our team provides a brief (5-10 minute) overview of Acquaint and the event. Test the Micro-Courses: Links are provided for each volunteer to test the micro-courses. Everyone gets about 15 minutes to complete it on their own. Activity: After each micro-course, volunteers from your team will be paired for one-on-one breakout sessions to apply the communication skills from the course. For some breakout sessions, your team members will be paired with each other, and for some they will be paired with global volunteers from the Acquaint community. Group Discussion: Everyone will have the opportunity to provide feedback and discuss what they learned from each other and from the courses. Surveys: We will ask volunteers to complete surveys, which can be submitted after the event. Join Us Today: Contribute your skills and insight for a stronger global community! Upon signing up via VolunteerMatch, you will receive a scheduling link to reserve a time for your group. We look forward to seeing you there!
