Be the Calm in the Storm: Join the American Red Cross Disaster Action Team Today! Join the American Red Cross Disaster Action Team (DAT) as a volunteer and become an essential part of emergency response efforts in Lakewood, NY. As a Disaster Action Team Volunteer, you will play a vital role in providing immediate assistance, comfort, and support to individuals and families experiencing a crisis, particularly house fires! Disaster Action Teams respond within two hours to the scene of a house fire, meeting the immediate basic needs of those affected and beginning recovery casework.
