Kennesaw students, Do you need volunteer hours to get your degree? Are you looking for an internship in an office environment? If so, you may want to consider volunteering with Agape Hospice Care in Marietta. We are open Monday thru Friday from 9am to 5 pm and can be very flexible with your schedule. We always need help with projects, light office work. If you prefer you could visit a terminally ill hospice patient for 1 hour visits one time per week. Become a volunteer! No health background needed, just a compassionate heart. You can be a companion for a hospice patient in your community. When you are part of the AGAPE HOSPICE CARE team, you receive training, active support from your supervisor, a network of fellow volunteers and staff, and the knowledge that you have comforted someone in their final journey. Who are we looking for? Retiree's, men, women, students, interns, homemakers, Military Veterans, church groups, and all others in-between. What does it take to become a volunteer? Interview (can be by phone) fill out an application consent to a background check (we pay for that) Take and pass drug and TB test (we pay for that) Relias on line training modules Copy of GADL, Auto insurance, and Vaccine card, if you have one. Then hospice volunteering could be for you. We are looking for 17 yrs and older to become hospice companionship volunteers. As a volunteer you will make a visit to a hospice patient, spend about an hour per week visiting. You will NOT do hands on care, you would not do any medication administering, you would just do friendly visits to help make a patient happy. We provide free training, we will shadow you on your first visit. You will gain life changing experiences. What does it take to become a hospice volunteer? This opprotunity is wonderful for college students, retired men or women, veterans, anyone with a big heart looking to give back. No medical background needed. We train. No hands on care, you would just sit with a patient and talk, read, play music.

Thank you for your interest in our volunteer team. Let me tell you how we work. We are not an inpatient unit. We go visit where our patients live, be it a memory care, Assisted living center, nursing home or their private homes. There is travel involved. With one hour per week, you could change a life, maybe your own. To be considered as a volunteer you will need to do the following: Fill out an application Submit an approval to run a background check on you (we pay for that) Take and pass a drug and TB tests (we pay for that) do online Relias learning modules as training Meet for a face-to-face orientation - Bring Georgia driver's license and current auto insurance and your COVID-19 vaccine card with you to orientation.
