We are looking for someone to do regular deliveries for our patients. This would include stopping at our main office to pick up supplies, then dropping them off to various facilities where our patients reside. Flexible schedule and duration available. Opportunity for paid mileage.

Badger Hospice is in need of a team of volunteers to sit vigil with actively dying patients. At Badger Hospice we believe no one should die alone. Vigil Volunteers will sit with patients while their family is not able to be with them. They can read, play music, or quietly hold our patient's hand during this time. The goal is to be a comforting presence during this transition. The Vision of Badger Hospice is to provide End of Life Care which maintains the dignity of the Individual who is facing the final stage of life and advanced illness. We recognize that each individual has the right to determine their own goals of care during the final stages of their illness and we focus on support, comfort, education and quality of life. Our commitment is simply to meet our Patients’ where they are at in their End of Life journey, wherever that may be. Our goal is to provide support and care that allows our Patients to live as comfortably as possible throughout their journey. Badger Hospice exists to serve our Patients’ and the individuals that are most important to them. TITLE: Volunteer Massage Therapist REPORTS TO: Volunteer Coordinator POSITION SUMMARY: The volunteer provides patient care and support services according to his/her experience and training and in compliance with hospice policies. QUALIFICATIONS: Certified Massage Therapist from an established massage therapy institute. Mature individual, supportive of the hospice concept. Is willing to service others in a volunteer capacity. Previous volunteer experience may be helpful. Ability to work within an interdisciplinary team. Licensed driver with an automobile that is insured in accordance with state law and maintained in good working order. RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES: 1. Serves as an integral member of the hospice interdisciplinary team 2. Serves as the patient/family/caregiver under guidance of nurse (case manager) or as part of the administrative team. Provides emotional support to patients/families. 3. Provides input to the plan of care and attends interdisciplinary meetings as appropriate. 4.Documents as educated and instructed, while maintaining confidentiality. 5. Provides availability on a regular basis and/or keeping with the patient/family/caregiver needs. 6. Maintains open communication and reports regularly to the Volunteer Coordinator including the response of the patient/family to hospice services. 7. Participates in Quality Assessment and Performance Improvement activities. 8. Assignment of other duties (as needed) directed by the Volunteer Coordinator. 9. Provides massage therapy in alignment with the needs of the patient and physical limitations. 10. Verifies physician orders prior to providing massage therapy. AGE SPECIFICS: This position interacts with all ages of patients, family members and other staff members. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Strength: Occasionally required to push/pull and lift up to 25 pounds of weight. Requirements: Completes application, criminal background check form and gives references. Signs and adheres to the confidentiality state of Badger Hospice. Submit a copy of current drivers license and auto insurance if the volunteer drives and owns an automobile.
