Mission Statement

Founded by Lady Gaga and her mother Cynthia Germanotta in 2012, Born This Way Foundation is committed to supporting the wellness of young people and empowering them to build a kinder and braver world. We do this by working directly with young people and by leveraging innovative programming, quality research, and authentic partnerships.

Description

Born This Way Foundation recognizes that today’s young people are a passionate, collaborative, idealistic, and diverse generation. They are our most promising problem solvers and effective change makers. That’s why our programs are tailored for and powered by young people - putting their ideas, voices, and needs first. We focus on demonstrating the potential of kindness to transform lives and communities, validating the emotions of young people, and eradicating the stigma around mental health.

Just hearing about it on GMA & those that support & back this organization, and with Lady Gaga & her mother starting this, what more could you want???!!! Reading the one comment knew I had to write also, being young in today’s reality would be 10 times the hell it was for me in the 50’s! Being constantly ridiculed by the kids in a small German community, being Lakota & the daughter of a divorced woman remarried to a German man with a name of Ricki; oh but my, it did force or allow me to have a wild imagination in order to attempt to soothe my tortured soul by the kids at school! Plus, these days, there is such a high rate of suicide on the reservations, so high, way too high! Maybe this organization can help along with whatever I hopefully can offer!

now in days i feel like young people need more help and if i can help in any way i would love too, because when i was young i wished i knew about organizations/foundations that helps empower children.
