Mission Statement

The Delta Protection Commission is committed to the protection and health of the Delta. We protect, maintain, enhance and enrich the overall quality of the Delta environment and economy. We do this with a focus on agriculture, recreation, and natural resources while remaining mindful of the importance of the Delta to all Californians.

Description

The Delta Protection Commission is comprised of a 15 member board representing the five Delta Counties and other State agencies. With a small team of dedicated staff, we work to protect land use in the Delta, promote and support recreation and heritage, share awareness about flood preparedness, and so much more! Every year we host the Delta Waterway Cleanup as part of California Coastal Cleanup Day with a cleanup site in each of the five Delta counties: Sacramento, Yolo, Solano, Contra Costa, and San Joaquin. Did you know the majority of trash on our beautiful California coastlines ends up there by way of inland waterways? This is why the Delta Waterway Cleanup is such an important part of Coastal Cleanup Day! Have you picked your cleanup site yet?
