Mission Statement

Our mission is to protect youth from being victimized by predators who leverage cyberspace as an international exploitation tactic. We accomplish this by promoting widespread awareness; educating youth about the dangers of cybercrime and providing them with methods of protection; stimulating the development of technology-driven safety solutions; and establishing strategic partnerships with other organizations to identify key indicators that lead to exploitation.

Description

Protect Us Kids Foundation ( www.protect-us-kids.org) is a U.S. based, 501c3 non-profit organization dedicated to protecting youth worldwide from cyber-related crimes, so that they may safely navigate online. Our programs are centered on the unique cultural, behavioral, and societal aspects of marginalized and rural communities that have afforded criminals an increased opportunity to exploit children leveraging technology. Our programs align to the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) and support global partnership efforts towards combating human trafficking. Our programs include:

  • Academic Outreach, Training and Development
  • Collaboration & Intelligence
  • Health Affairs and Sexual Assault Advocacy & Outreach
  • Public Relations & Communications
  • Technology
  • Youth Life

While our overall goal is to protect all youth, we have a special interest in those living in underserved, rural and marginalized areas who may be more vulnerable to predatory maneuvers.

I’ve started interning with PUK at the beginning of September and I liked interning with them because everybody was nice and I learned a lot about protecting kids all over the world and steps we can take to help protect kids everyday.

Interning for PUK has been a great experience! I started volunteering in June 2023 and became an intern in August 2023 for a class that required me to obtain an internship. PUK was my first choice because they care about their interns and volunteers by consistently checking in, promoting a healthy work environment, and keeping a positive attitude. PUK’s CEO, Veda, is awesome as well! I hadn’t met a hands-on CEO who cared to interact with everyone until I discovered PUK, and because of that, PUK is welcoming and warm. I loved interning so much for the fall of 2023 that I plan to intern/ volunteer for the spring of 2024! Volunteering, working, or interning for PUK will add to your life. Don’t hesitate to be a part of this organization; they won’t disappoint!

First, the organization sticks to its mission to raise awareness of cybersex trafficking among minors from underprivileged and rural areas. The organization also provides the best working environment to interact with all volunteers and learn something new. I have never even once regretted being part of the organization as a volunteer, and therefore would recommend it to anybody who shares their vision and mission to join PUK.

I love the message that the foundation spreads. I volunteered with the youth group and it provided a space for collaboration. As a group we were able to discuss topics like the importance of cyber security for children, and how we wanted to educate others. The youth group gave me the platform to hear new perspectives and share my opinion freely.
