Volunteer to check email and spreadsheet every couple of hours for orders. Assign orders via text to order fulfilment volunteer and log the order on a spreadsheet. Also, answer the phone and respond to email questions. Calls are either to donate equipment or to request equipment. There are about 9 to 11calls a day. These calls can be taken anywhere quiet. The Assist ME number would be forwarded to your phone during working hours on days you work. The Assist ME phone is a Google number and calls coming from that number will identified to you. The customer service volunteer can choose the day of the week.

Position Overview: Assist ME is seeking a dedicated volunteer to fill the role of Online Used Equipment Sales Coordinator. This individual will play a crucial role in generating funds for our organization by managing the sale of excess medical equipment. The proceeds from these sales will directly support our mission of providing essential medical equipment to those in need. We will pay a commission of 10% on items sold by the volunteer. Key Responsibilities: Coordinate the sale of excess medical equipment through various channels, including online platforms such as Craigslist and FaceBook marketplace Manage inventory of available equipment for sale, ensuring accurate records and documentation. Coordinate with the executive director to set prices on items Communicate effectively with potential buyers, providing detailed information about available equipment and coordinating logistics for delivery or pickup. Maintain professionalism and uphold the values and reputation of Assist ME in all sales interactions.

Volunteer to call and/or text and/or email past recipients of the donated equipment to ask questions about patient’s well-being. Has the patient fallen, been to the emergency room, been re-admitted to the hospital and what is the degree of patient independence? Questions are provided. Also inquire if the patient is done with the equipment and if they wish to re-donate it. Volunteer can do the number of patients per month that they choose and can work from home.

Description
Assist ME takes in gently used medical equipment, such as standard manual wheelchairs, bedside commodes, tub transfer benches, shower chairs, etc. ), clean them up and gift them to low income, uninsured patients. When patients have this type of equipment, they fall less often and are readmitted to hospitals less often.
