Volunteer opportunities are available at Gentiva Hospice to provide friendly visits to patients and/or their caregiver for family member to provide them with Reiki Therapy. We recognize the value of Reiki to enhance coping and quality of life. Work around your busy schedule! Visit the day, time of day, and frequency that works for you and your patient. Once a week? Every other week? Once a month? You decide! Most visits last 30 to 90 minutes. What does it take to be a Gentiva Hospice Volunteer? Volunteers receive training appropriate to their respective volunteer position. Orientation and trainings are scheduled to fit your availablity. **Volunteers do NO clinical or direct care with patients such as feeding, toileting, dressing, etc. You are just there to brighten the patient's day and enhance their quality of life! **Volunteers do not have to show proof of a COVID vaccination but may need to adhere to facility COVID guidelines such as wearing a mask. Volunteers would receive direction prior to visiting a patient.

Volunteer opportunities are available at Gentiva Hospice to provide friendly visits to patients and/or their families at local healthcare facilities or in their personal home in the South Hills area of Pittsburgh. Volunteers are there to listen and talk, read a book, play cards or watch a favorite t.v. show. Volunteers also provide special support including playing music or working on craft projects. No matter what your skills, talents or motivation, we have the opportunity for you to help! And more... By helping in the office, a hospice volunteer is directly and indirectly helping the hospice staff care for the patients and their families. The time you provide is a gift you both give and receive! As a volunteer, you can Work around your busy (or not so busy) schedule Come into the office once a month, once a week...you decide!
