Love leading interactive mental health presentations? Become a Red Cross Reconnection Workshop Facilitator and utilize your mental health background to provide Reconnection Workshop courses to military, veterans, and their families. Classes offered are: -Communicating Clearly -Exploring Stress and Trauma -Identifying Depression -Relating to Children -Working Through Anger -Communication and Coping for Children Responsibilities: * Provide Reconnection Workshops for military members, veterans, and their families in various community-based settings. * Advocate, share and promote information regarding resiliency with others in local area * Remain clinically active for professional licensing * Facilitate at least two workshops per year. * Manage volunteers, work independently or with a team * Perform duties within the scope of licensure and training * Stay up-to-date on mental health research and practices for military, veterans and their families Qualifications: * Holds a current, unencumbered license from, or is registered with, any U.S. state or territory as a social worker, psychologist, professional counselor, marriage and family therapist, or psychiatrist (any level license/registration, including non-clinical licenses such as Licensed Masters Social Worker or LMSW). * Masters level or above mental health degree * Willingness to support the Red Cross mission and the United States military * Personal or professional experience working with the military a plus If interested in volunteering, please contact Volunteer Recruitment Specialist, Juana Zapata at Juana .Zapata@redcross.org or (951) 205-6689.

Service of the armed forces : Presenter -29 palms Inform and educate Red Cross partners, military members and their families by conducting briefings at a variety of community venues. Key Responsibilities: Support the Red Cross mission Deliver information about Red Cross programs and services Answer questions in public forums (deployment briefings; Family Readiness meetings; Welcome briefings) and in "face-to-face" format such as community and deployment fairs, with audience size varying from small to very large numbers. Provide appropriate referrals Maintain professionalism and conduct as stated in Red Cross policy Qualifications: Willing and able to support the Red Cross Service to the Armed Forces (SAF) mission and have an awareness of and appreciation for military culture, military families, and veterans' issues Ability to communicate effectively in a public setting; enjoys public speaking Comfortable presenting to large and small audiences Ability to interact effectively with culturally diverse audiences Computer skills and working knowledge of Power Point preferred Flexible and able to adapt quickly to schedule changes Knowledge of Red Cross policy Knowledge of military and community resources Training: We provide all the training!
