Our Dare to Care Food Pantry is in need of volunteers to help fight against hunger in our community. Volunteering a couple of hours out of the day will make a huge difference in someone's life. We are in need of volunteers for various positions: Unloading Dare to Care Food Truck 1st Wednesday of each month and volunteers to work in pantry from 11:30-3:15 (days may vary) and a volunteer to pick up from Kroger Valley, Terry Road and Kroger Marketplace on Monday and Thursday. Make a difference in the life of homebound seniors

Southwest Community Ministries Meals on Wheels program is in need of friendly and dependable volunteers who are looking to make a difference in the lives of home bound seniors in their communities. The more volunteers who give their time, the more seniors in need receive hot, nutritious meals. Meals on Wheels volunteer drivers deliver hot or frozen meals to seniors to anticipate the healthy lunch and comforting smell of a volunteer each delivery day. Delivery routes are available Monday through Friday in each route only takes about an hour to complete. In the short time, volunteers can help to ensure that these home bound seniors stay safe, healthy, and happy in their own homes. Deliver once a week, once a month or as your schedule allows. We have morning and afternoon routes with the morning route starting around 9:45 AM in the afternoon route starting around 2:45 PM. You might be the only visitor meals on wheels clients see each day and your contact with them is so important for their spirit and well-being!

Emergency Financial Assistance Volunteer

Our Emergency Assistance Program starts at 12:30 and ends around 4:30. Some hands on training is needed to complete this task. We need assistance interviewing / screening clients to help administer funding. You would be shadowing a few days a week until you got the hang of things, then could have a more flexible schedule. If you are not fond of one on one interaction you can help with the phone screening and scheduling of appointments. Both positions report to the Emergency Financial Assistance Director for scheduling and training.
