Gentiva Hospice is looking for Administrative Office Support Volunteers. Task: Office Support Light administrative assignments may include the following: filing, mailings, making copies, sorting paperwork, assembling information packets, providing organizational skills, file archives organization and clerical support. Training: is provided by Gentiva Hospice and can be based on your schedule Days and hours: Flexible. You get to choose the days and times you come in, in accordance with regular office hours. (Monday-Friday 8:00am-5:00pm) Time commitment: Flexible! Requirements: A background check and drug screen. * This is an office position and does not require patient interaction. Gentiva Hospice is looking for Veteran-to-Veteran Volunteers to visit patients in their home, assisted living or skilled nursing facilities throughout Southern Indiana. Our hospice program, "Vets Caring for Vets" need retired or active-duty military members who are willing to share some of their time to help support veterans who are terminally ill. Veteran's share a comradery through military experiences that are unique to them. Volunteers will be trained to work directly with patients and families to provide services such as companionship, emotional support, socialization and respite for caregivers. Task: Patient Support Volunteers for the "We Honor Veterans" program. Are you caring, reliable, and friendly? We are looking for direct care volunteers. Volunteers visit with patients to help ease loneliness and provide overall companionship. Some patients are in need of a simple presence visit, receiving a sense of relief knowing that someone is there with them. Volunteers also provide respite visits allowing a family member time to run errands. During visits volunteers may play music, games, read, or sit and talk with the patient. Some patients do not have family and friends who are able to visit. Location(s): opportunities in Lawrence, Orange, Crawford, Jackson, Washington, Harrison, Jennings, Jefferson, Scott, Clark, Floyd counties. Training is provided by Gentiva Hospice and can be based on your schedule Days and hours: Flexible Time commitment: Minimum of 4 hours per month Requirements: A background check, drug screen, TB Skin Test. * This is a position requiring patient interaction.
