Feeling good about ourselves is the best way to face a hard day. We are in need of assistance with haircuts/styles for hospice patients who are no longer able to make it to the Barber Shop or Beauty Shop to get their hair day. We all know how amazing it feels to look our best... will you help a hospice patient feel better by volunteering to cut/style their hair in their home? Volunteers needed to assist hospice patients with activities such as bingo, card games, exercise, coloring, painting, crafting, writing, drawing etc. If you would like to share some of your time helping to brighten a hospice patients' day by escorting them and helping them to participate in facility activities, please reach out to me for information on how to get started. As the volunteer you will be given to opportunity to enhance the quality of life for the patient in many ways. You will be able to provide compassionate support for patients and their families in home and or long term care facilities. Volunteers would be providing support to a patient who has a terminal condition and their family. You as the Volunteer would be doing, but not limited to: Provide companionship and support to patient and family. Provide simple comfort measures for a patient. Carrying out light house work chores/ tasks. Engaging in the patients hobbies. Maintaining confidentiality. Writing letters or reading to the patient. Observing and reporting changes in patient to Volunteer Coordinator. Attending volunteer training programs and facility orientation programs.
