ViaQuest Hospice serves patients in the London area, and invites you to join our team of exceptional, caring volunteers who spend a little time with a patient to make a big difference in that patient's life. Conversation, companionship, watching TV together, reading, enjoying music--all brighten a patient's day. Just time spent with a patient makes the day a special one! Weekly visits are preferred, but twice a month or even monthly visits are welcome. You may choose the patients you visit and set up a visit schedule that suits your calendar. ViaQuest Hospice patients and families live at home and in facilities in the Marysville area. Those patients living in their homes have caregivers--spouses or other family members--who occasionally need a 'break' for appointments, errands, or some well-deserved personal time. This is the time that ViaQuest volunteers step in for "caregiver relief" to spend time with the patient. Allowing the caregiver some relief while spending time with the patient is a double dose of volunteer caring---a two-for-one bonus of gratitude! Caregivers are assured that their loved one is not alone, and can enjoy time away to renew, refresh or just relax. Volunteer orientations are offered monthly.
