Breaking Taboo is looking for remote volunteers! We are a Non-profit organization dedicated to breaking the taboo around Mental Illness and providing critical education to the public on Suicide Prevention. Our mission is to save lives by killing silence. Here is what we require from our amazing volunteers: 1. Willingness to break the taboo 2. Enthusiasm to make a difference. 3. Weekly communication with our volunteer coordinator and founder If you think this is you, then send us a quick email and we will get you started right away. You can do what you love to do and be a part of something that does everything to make a difference. We need people to help with: 1) Research... A few examples: Research event venues and other places volunteers can fundraise for the organization, i.e. find events volunteers can work booths at. Also, find programs that offer discounts for 501(c)(3) non-profits. 2) Phone calls. Breaking Taboo calls businesses and other organizations to secure sponsorships or donors. 3) Article and Blog Writing. 4) List-making. A few examples: Draft lists of people who can be contacted to gain support for our cause, people who may be interested in helping us complete our documentary, and organizations we can collaborate with. Breaking Taboo is looking for new Article Writers for a chance to be published on our established mental health website! Are you looking for the chance to make a difference, particularly in the field of mental health and suicide prevention? If so, this volunteer position might be the right fit for you! You would be writing research-based articles on an approved topic of your choice within the mental health sphere. In the past, we have had members write everything from coping mechanisms to integrating mental health education into the school curriculum. This is a non-paid volunteer remote position. You must be able to commit a minimum of 3 months. You can find more examples of our articles here: https://breaking-taboo.org/category/articles/. Or on our main website under "articles" www.breaking-taboo.org If this sounds like something you are passionate about, Please submit your resume, cover letter, and 3-5 writing samples. Preferred writing samples include some form of research based essay and a personal piece if you have one. Thank you and happy writing! We are looking for writing samples that display your skill as a writer. They don't have to be mental health-related. We are looking for substance as much as syntax, flow, and grammatical aptitude, especially for the research-based articles. For personal stories, we are a bit more lenient. Description
We utilize a variety of platforms in order to promote mental health awareness and mental well being. We provide much needed education to the public about suicide prevention, suicide resources, inspirational stories, and debunking the myths associated with suicide while promoting useful facts. We love working with and promoting artists and ambassadors for mental health awareness. We work in the film industry and produce motion picture educational content , including documentaries. We are looking for anyone with a passion for this cause and would like to help us promote awareness and save lives!
