Do you have a passion for helping others? Do you have a desire to bring comfort and companionship to those who need it most? Then hospice volunteering is for YOU! LightBridge is looking for BILIGUAL volunteers to spend a few hours a week with hospice patients near them. Our hospice volunteers are an essential part of the team and help us provide support and companionship to patients throughout San Diego County. LightBridge is proud to offer an array of integrative therapies to our patients including volunteer companionship, aromatherapy, Reiki and Healing Touch, pet therapy, music, therapy and MORE! With the help of our volunteers, we are able to create impactful and lasting memories for hospices patients and their families. Our volunteers spend time with patients in their surrounding areas and based on their own schedule, so it's a great opportunity for those who need a little more flexibility. Volunteers are provided with thorough training and shadowing opportunities, so you'll be well trained and supported through your volunteer journey. Requirements: Must be 18 or older, or have guardian permission to volunteer with patients Willing to undergo a background check Willing to undergo mandatory Physical and TB test (offered free at the LightBridge office) Ability to travel to see patients in their homes or care facilities, either by vehicle or public transportation Has a clean driving record with no DUIs on file Willingness to see patients once per week, or volunteer in the office one day per week Honor time commitments Maintain confidentiality in all manners Attend regularly mandatory Volunteer Meetings This is a wonderful opportunity for anyone looking to add meaningful interactions and moments into their lives. Do you have a certified therapy dog and are looking to make a difference in someone's life? LightBridge Hospice has the perfect opportunity for you! Animal visits not only bring joy and happiness, but research has shown that interactions can decrease isolation and depression, reduce the symptoms of anxiety, improve pain, stabilize blood pressure, even improve cardiovascular health and sleep. We are looking for Pet Therapy Volunteers who are interested in visiting hospice patients in San Diego County. You will be able to make your own schedule and availability. Valid animal therapy certifications will be required. We hope you and you're furry friend will join the LightBridge team and bring joy to hospice patients in San Diego.
