The Smith County Historical Society is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that is dedicated to discovering, collecting, and preserving the vast amount of data, records, and other physical items related to the history of Smith County, Texas

Description

The Smith County Historical Society maintains the museum and archives, located in the Carnegie building, and Camp Ford. It is our hope to provide our community, and anyone interested, with our fascinating collection of Smith County history and the artifacts that we have accumulated since our founding in 1959. Our extensive archives collection contains everything from photographs, to newspapers, to family histories. Our organization offers a wide variety of volunteer opportunities for all experience levels, and we would love to work with you!
