Position Title: Clerical Office Volunteer Position Type: Clerical Services Personnel Facility: Aviant Hospice: 2701 North Tenaya Way, #200 Las Vegas, NV 89128 Qualifications: Volunteer duties include but are not limited to: Prior experience or training in a medical setting are helpful Mature, calm person Able to function independently Basic computer skills Understands necessity of maintaining confidentiality Duties and Responsibilities: A vital component of our hospice team is our office volunteers. Office volunteers assist with light clerical work, data entry, assisting our Administrative Assistant and helping with other projects. Helping on these projects allows staff to be more focused on their patients. Training is provided at your convenience. Hours are flexible. Please include your phone number so we can contact you. Position Title: Hospice Volunteer Location: Homes and nursing facilities throughout Las Vegas Valley Qualifications: Prior experience or training in a medical setting is helpful but not required Mature, calm person Comfortable with people from all cultures and walks of life Ability to calmly handle emotionally charged situations regarding end-of-life concerns Able to function independently Basic computer skills Understands necessity of maintaining confidentiality Duties and Responsibilities: Share your heart! Volunteers spend time with patients offering companionship and socialization. Volunteers also spend time with the our patients so their family/caregivers can run errands, shop or just spend some relaxing alone time. Some of our patients are alone so volunteers spend time with them doing tasks like preparing a simple meal, reading to them or other needed tasks around the home. Patients are grateful to have a volunteer spend some time with them. Hospice make more meaningful moments possible for our patients, their loved one and caregivers... and volunteers are an essential part of this. Whether it's running errands, helping check items off a bucket list, lending an ear, or opening their hearts, Aviant Hospice volunteers bring comfort, love and respect when it's needed most.

Position Title: 11th Hour Volunteer (No Patient Dies Alone) Position Type: Patient Services Personnel Facility: Various homes and facilities in Clark County Qualifications: Volunteer duties include but are not limited to: Prior experience or training in a medical setting are helpful Mature, calm person Comfortable with people from all cultures and walks of life Able to tolerate emotional people and deal with various behaviors and personalities Able to function independently Basic computer skills Understands necessity of maintaining confidentiality Duties and Responsibilities: A basic belief of hospice care is that no one should die alone without the supportive presence of loved ones. 11th Hour Volunteers provide a comforting presence needed by our patients and families in the final hours of life. Patients who have little or no family nearby often find themselves isolated and alone during their last days. A volunteer, who is part of the Aviant Hospice team, can help fill the need for compassion, concern, comfort and a caring gentle touch in the last days or hours when a loved one is not available. 11th Hour Volunteers give the precious gift of being emotionally and mentally present as they honor our patients and make his or her transition from life to death a little easier.
