Each week during the school year, teachers from disadvantaged schools in our community come to the Cleveland Kids In Need Resource Center to pick up free supplies for their students and classrooms.
We host volunteers Tuesday through Friday 9am - 400pm in the repurposed Greater Cleveland Food Bank Building - The Community Resource Center which is conveniently off I-90 in Collinwood.
We can accommodate small groups up to 10. Some common volunteer tasks are:
- Counting, organizing and sorting inventory
- Stocking and displaying inventory on our store shelves
- Fulfilling on-line orders
- Stuffing uniform packages and backpacks with supplies
We are VERY flexible in our scheduling: you (and your friends) can sign up for any day of the month. For example, the third Wednesday, and that way we can give our other volunteers a day off. Some groups sign up for a week, pledging that they will provide 3-4 volunteers the fourth week of the month on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. We also need people willing to serve as substitutes.

Shoes and Clothes for Kids’ mission is to improve K-8 school attendance by eliminating lack of appropriate clothing, shoes and school supplies as barriers.
Description
Shoes and Clothes for Kids (SC4K) is the only non-profit organization in Greater Cleveland providing new shoes, school uniforms, clothes and school supplies throughout the year at no charge to thousands of children in need. Through our programs, including Uniforms for Kids and the Cleveland Kids in Need Resource Center, we help improve school attendance, in some cases up to 24%, so that our community's children have the education they need to succeed.
Our great impact reflects the efforts of hundreds of committed volunteers who help us organize our inventory as it comes in, and then get it out to the community. We thank you for your interest in lending your support! We operate in the new Community Resource Center at 15500 South Waterloo (CRC). It's located conveniently off I-90 in Collinwood.
