Belmont World Film is seeking a new treasurer to bring us to the next level. The treasurer will work with the executive director and bookkeeper in maintaining the organization's financial well-being. Interest in international films, cultural understanding, and box office reporting a plus.
Responsibilities:
- Financial transactions: Review and pay invoices, reconcile bank statements, generate box office reports
- Financial records: Working with our bookkeeper, ensure that financial books are accurate and up-to-date in QuickBooks
- Financial reports & filings: Oversee generation of monthly, quarterly, and annual statements; file government tax forms and remittances
- Budgeting: Help prepare annual budget and present to the board for review
- Financial policies: Oversee development of financial policies and procedures
Optional responsibilities:
- Box office: Treasurer has traditionally handled the box office during film screenings
Qualifications:
- Proven experience with handling financial transactions, such as paying invoices, processing donations and payments
- Knowledge and understanding of monthly and annual financial reports, as well as government filings
- Experience with QuickBooks
- Some experience with budgeting and setting financial policies helpful
Time commitment:
The International Film Series takes place March-May and the Family Film Festival in January. The majority of time spent is from December-May and October (when our fiscal year ends). Board meetings are generally every other month.

Description
Since 2002, Belmont World Film has offered some of the best and most current international films to the Greater Boston community. The organization presents two annual programs--a weekly International Film Series in the spring and a weekend-long Family Film Festival in the fall--plus special events throughout the year. Both programs feature award-winning narrative films, documentaries, animation, and shorts from around the world enhanced by post-film discussions led by topical speakers--including filmmakers, actors, film critics, local experts, and diplomats--cultural performances, and ethnic cuisine.
Belmont World Film also partners with numerous nonprofit organizations from around the world to bring awareness to many international situations and causes.
