Create the magic that surrounds each wish for a child in your community! Wish granters get to build relationships with our amazing wish families, and help a child get to the heart of their wish!! After the wish is determined, our granters build anticipation for the granting of the wish with activities and monthly visits. Then, just before the wish is granted, help plan the wish celebration and create a magical experience for that special child and their family!

Wish granters meet with their wish families virtually and in-person, depending on family preference. The ideal candidate has flexible availability, good communication skills, loves kids, and is comfortable with using video conferencing applications (FaceTime, Zoom, etc.). Multilingual volunteers are especially needed!

Please note that this volunteer opportunity is for 18 years and older. Availability for Honolulu, Hawaii, Maui and Kauai county Wish Granters!

Mission Statement

Together, we create life-changing wishes for children with critical illnesses.

Description

Our mission reflects the life-changing impact that a Make-A-Wish experience has on children, families, referral sources, donors, sponsors and entire communities.

Although it has become one of the world's most well-known charities, the Make-A-Wish Foundation has maintained the grassroots fulfillment of its mission.

Our networks of volunteers enable Make-A-Wish Hawaii to serve children with critical illnesses. Volunteers assist with special events, and serve as wish granters, fundraisers, and office volunteers. Volunteers are essential to the success of our mission and valued partners in uplifting our wish families.
