This opportunity is meant to bring the male population into Sunrise of McCandless to spend quality, social time with our male residents. The type of activity is highly flexible and can be based on a mixture of both the resident and volunteers preferences. Some ideas could be playing board games such as Chess, Checkers, Scrabble, even Poker. Activities of a more active nature could be bowling, bocce or indoor golf. Just sitting and chatting with the men about sports can also be very beneficial for them.
Ideally this opportunity could be a weekly event.

We are an Personal Care community located in the McCandless area of Pittsburgh. We feature three neighborhoods within our community; two of which offer special care for those with memory impairment.
Volunteers play a huge part in our daily activities, helping to brighten the days of all those we serve. The opportunities are endless, if you happen to not see something that interests you, reach out! I strive to be highly flexible in the varying interests, capabilities and availability of volunteers.
