Volunteers help our hospice team provide compassionate, quality care to those living with life-limiting illness. Our volunteers work side by side with hospice professionals in providing comfort and care when they are needed most. Take a chance, share a smile, be a friend, hold a hand, make a difference.
Do you have a couple of hours a month to share? Consider being a friendly visitor volunteer. Your visit can provide much-needed encouragement and support to a hospice patient and their family caregivers. While you sit with a patient and listen to music, play a game of cards, or watch a movie, their caregiver gets a break to relax a bit.
Volunteers are the heart of the Hospice Team. We depend on our volunteers to help us provide the extra love and care our clients and their families need at this time in their life.
Other Volunteer Opportunities include: Administrative help in our offices, Special Project Volunteers to assist with our grief camps, Sewing or Knitting lap blankets and shawls, etc., or Bereavement Support to help facilitate grief support groups and provide support to grieving families.
Interested? Call Heartland Hospice @ 810-230-1318 to learn more about our program needs.

Mission Statement
Hospice isn’t a place. It’s a philosophy of care. Heartland Hospice is dedicated to providing patients with care wherever they consider home. Whether in a private home, a skilled nursing center or an assisted living facility, we tailor our caregiving to fit the patient’s and family’s unique needs. Our caregivers help manage pain and symptoms, enabling patients to live life as fully and comfortably as possible. Social workers and spiritual counselors create a comforting environment in which patients and families are able to share their thoughts, hopes and concerns. Bereavement programs provide emotional support to patients and families who need help coping with loss. Heartland Hospice is dedicated to uphold each patient’s and family’s wishes, goals and values. At Heartland we help preserve our patients’ dignity, show them the respect that they richly deserve, and provide compassionate care.
