Caring Friends Cat Rescue is a non-profit, fully volunteer run cat rescue; the Tustin MarketplacePetSmart sponsors us by housing a few of our cats and hosting adoption events for us every weekend. All the food and supplies are handled by PetSmart but we manage and care for the cats. Our regular volunteers are tasked with cleaning the kennels, playing with the cats, socializing the cats, feeding, and watching over the health and safety of the cats. We have volunteers who come in seven days a week, once in the morning (between 7 am to 10 am) and once in the evening (between 4 pm to 7 pm) to clean the kennels, feed and play with the cats. Shifts take approximately 2.5 to 3 hours to complete. We currently have several shifts open and also need fill-in volunteers to cover shifts when other volunteers go on vacation, get sick, etc. You can take on a weekly or bi-weekly shift or just fill-in when needed. Volunteers must be at least 18 yrs of age or be accompanied by an adult.
