Volunteer tutors instruct adults students as they prepare for the High School Equivalency tests (GED), learn the English language, or prepare for U.S. citizenship. Tutors spend 1.5 hours per week with their student, in a public location, and help them to improve their skills, better their ability for employment and gain a better life for themselves and their families. Helping students to learn skills and gain sustaining employment directly impacts their ability to prepare for disasters and support their families during difficult and challenging times. Materials and support are provided.
