Grandma Stone loves helping in the classroom!

Foster Grandparents serve at-risk and special-needs children in schools, Head Start Centers, preschool settings, and other locations close to their home.

They give tutoring, mentoring, attention, encouragement, and love to help children develop skills, confidence and strength for success in life through individual attention.

The one-on-one daily attention the Foster Grandparents provide is the heart of the program. While improving the lives of the children they serve, Foster Grandparents also profoundly enrich their own lives.

Qualified Foster Grandparents earn a tax-free, hourly stipend, a meal while serving, limited transportation or mileage reimbursement, training, supplemental accident and liability insurance while on duty and so much more.

About UTAH COUNTY FOSTER GRANDPARENT PROGRAM

Location:

151 South University Avenue, #2200, Provo, UT 84601, US

Mission Statement

The Foster Grandparent Program connects volunteers age 55 and over with children and young people with exceptional needs. Volunteers mentor, support, and help vulnerable children.

Description

As a Foster Grandparent, you're a role model, a mentor, and a friend. Serving at local Head Start Centers, schools, and other youth facilities--you help children learn to read, provide one-on-one tutoring, and guide children at a critical time in their lives. Put simply, you give the kind of comfort and love that sets a child on the path toward a successful future.

Foster Grandparents serve a minimum of 15 hours and up to 40 hours per week. Qualified volunteers earn a tax-free, hourly stipend, travel reimbursement, a meal, training and supplemental accident and liability insurance while on duty, and so much more.

And remember: When you volunteer, you're not just helping others--you're helping yourself. Volunteering leads to new discoveries and new friends. Plus, studies show that volunteering helps you live longer and promotes a positive outlook on life.

So get involved, and join Foster Grandparents today!

The Foster Grandparent Program is made possible by a federal grant from AmeriCorps Seniors and is sponsored by Utah County Government.
