Give a Lift: Help Older Adults in Your Community Get to Important Appointments

Transportation

Volunteer Drivers are the KEY to independence and safety for our older neighbors who are no longer able to drive.

Help older adults and disabled individuals throughout Livingston County remain independent in their own homes by providing rides to the doctor and other vital appointments.

Volunteers pick clients up at their homes and drive them to appointments. Enjoy socializing with homebound people who look forward to an outing. Assist those who need extra help by escorting them into buildings. Pick up client at appointed time to return home.

Flexible assignments.
FREE Training is provided in certain areas.

RSVP volunteers receive supplemental accident and liability insurance coverage at no cost while volunteering. Partial mileage reimbursement may be available to eligible volunteers.

AmeriCorps Seniors recruits and places volunteers age 55 and older in activities that address critical community needs in Livingston County, NY, Volunteers serve as drivers, coaches of health and wellness workshops and advocates for older adults in nursing homes among other placements. .
