Temporary housing and caring for SMALL BREED DOGS: Shih Tzu, Maltese, Lhasa and other small, hypoallergenic dogs under 20 lbs.
Foster parents treat the dogs as if they were their own; feeding, supervising, evaluating, medicating (where necessary) training (if you have the skills) and caring for the animal for the time that they spend in your home.
LHH will take care of all the expenses...
Fosters are responsible for transportation to the event site weekly. (This requirement is flexible based on your situation).
Fosters are desperately needed, but we are not looking for people who are interested in "trying out" dogs for adoption, although it can be a good way to see if you are ready for a dog...or even a second dog! You can adopt from Lhasa Happy Homes...but not one of your first three fosters. If you are interested in adopting, please do! We try to match a foster dog that will best fit with your home situation ... so that we make it as easy as possible for our fosters!
We are looking for fosters who live within close enough proximity to our adoption events to bring the dogs to adoptions on Sundays in West Los Angeles, CA 90064. We do have volunteers who travel all the way from Orange County...so it's up to you!! We do try to carpool whenever possible!

Lhasa Happy Homes is a private rescue and foster care organization with a goal to rehome and save the lives of as many the breed (including Lhasa, Shih Tzu, Maltese and small mixed breeds) as humanly possible. It is our endeavor to educate the public on a grassroots level as to the importance of spaying and neutering their animals and training them them as forever parents so that these animals are never in the "system" again.
Description
Lhasa Happy Homes is a private rescue and foster care organization created for the safe haven and permanent placement of homeless pups, primarily Lhasa Apsos, Shih Tzus, Maltese and small mixed breeds. We are not a shelter facility. Dogs are housed in a homelike environment, given very special and loving attention during their "temporary" stay at our facility. We rescue from the Los Angeles city and county shelters, and we accept Lhasa Apso, Shih Tzu, Maltese and owner turn-ins who are need of re-homing on a case-by-case basis.
