Doorways creates pathways out of homelessness, domestic violence and sexual assault leading to safe, stable and empowered lives by offering emergency shelter, housing, life changing support services and community advocacy in Arlington, Virginia.
You can be part of the solution by supporting the operations and logistics are our organization. Administrative Volunteers volunteer at our office (located in the Ballston Quarter). They answer the phone, greet office visitors, accept packages, assist with special projects, and complete various administrative tasks for staff members. Must have daytime weekend (Monday-Friday) availability during daytime hours between 9am-5pm. Community Outreach Volunteers represent Doorways at different local events, sharing about Doorways mission, services, and volunteer opportunities. Outreach events are not reguarly scheduled, with many taking place on weeknights and weekends across the Arlington and wider-DMV area.

Doorways is an Arlington-based non-profit agency helping individuals and families create pathways out of homelessness, domestic violence and sexual assault leading to safe, stable and empowered lives. We envision a community where all people live free of violence and have safe and stable housing regardless of their gender, race, ethnicity, age, religious beliefs, sexual orientation, abilities, language, or national origin. Through the generosity of our partners and supporters, we help our most vulnerable neighbors survive crisis, rebuild their lives, and achieve brighter futures.
