Mission Statement

Loma Vista Farm is an outdoor classroom, which provides hands-on educational activities involving plants and animals for children of all ages and abilities, increasing their knowledge of nature and nutrition while enhancing academic learning, eco-literacy and psychosocial development.

Description

The Loma Vista Farm is a public and private venture between the Vallejo City Unified School District and the Friends of Loma Vista Farm, a community-based nonprofit organization. Founded in 1974, the Loma Vista Farm has over four decades of solid experience making a difference in Vallejo by providing school children with experiential learning opportunities to bolster academic skills in reading, writing, math, social science, language arts, science and health in a farm-based setting. We are located on five acres near Loma Vista Elementary School and MIT Academy in north Vallejo. The primary funding is provided through fund raising efforts by the Friends of Loma Vista Farm.
