Volunteer Fundraising Program Manager
The KeelWorks Foundation is a 501(3)(c) approved non-profit foundation dedicated to changing learning outcomes. We bring learners together, teach core learning competencies and learning values, we help them identify goals, we provide metrics for progress on goals, and we provide a virtual support structure for implementation. KeelWorks has a core of volunteers, but no paid staff and no funds. Volunteers participate for two reasons: They believe in the mission, and they want to advance their career. KeelWorks gives volunteers a chance to practice in the role they would like to pursue as a career. We have graduate level instructional designers without experience building learning content for KeelWorks. In return, KeelWorks allows them to put this experience on their resume as a job. We provide a job reference and speak to prospective employers without discussing work capacity or pay.
We would like to extend this to fundraising. Once we have a sufficient funding base, we will develop a core paid staff from our volunteer base. We don't encourage volunteers to plan on this because we have far more volunteers than the foundation could hire. For fundraising, we would begin with a program manager who would develop policy, process, and procedures for KeelWorks fundraising. That person would supervise a fundraising internship program similar to what we have for the instructional design program.
The person holding this position can use this volunteer experience to justify an application for a funding role in any other non-profit foundation.

Description
KeelWorks is a 501c3 foundation. Since 2008 hundreds of graduate students and unemployed workers, reached gainful employment while helping KeelWorks build structure for change. We want to end poverty across the world, changing one life at a time. The KeelWings program for recent students and the KeelMate program for transitioning workers apply their learning while gaining experience supporting the KeelMaster program development. This experience reflected in a competent resume - with our guidance - qualifies them as a credible job applicant. The KeelMaster program is designed to support employment for the more challenged unemployed. This program begins with barrier identification and mitigation, assigns participants facilitated teams where they learn core competencies, ending with goal determination. They access training, and while doing so, join paid internships. Mutual support, core competencies, application, and clear and objective progress metrics support measured results. This structure for change will be replicated over and over across the globe. While other programs give the needy fish, we teach teach them to fish.
