Michael's Place offers many program opportunities each month for grieving families, children, and individuals. Support group programs are designed to address grief with age-appropriate curriculum, monthly themes, and activity meant to engage and assist all ages as they process their own grief, establish healthy coping skills, learn to find hope and purpose in a peer setting.
Group facilitators are trained volunteers who are there to listen, care, and guide peer-to-peer discussion. Personal bereavement experiences are helpful, but not mandatory. Group facilitation can also be used as an intern experience for those in bachelor’s or master’s level social work or counselor training programs.
