Mission Statement

Our mission is to prevent and end homelessness, one life at a time. Our values are expressed in our CREED. They are the foundation of our work. (Compassion, Respect, Empathy, Empowerment, Dignity).

Description

Father Joe's Villages, is the largest provider of homeless services in Southern California. Established in 1950 to serve San Diegans experiencing homelessness and poverty, Father Joe’s Villages has grown to include a comprehensive campus and scattered-site programs that house over 2,000 people nightly.

THE STREETS ARE NOT A HOME

At least 7,600 people are experiencing homelessness every night in San Diego. Of those, nearly 4,000 men, women and children lie down to sleep each night on sidewalks, in doorways, canyons and alleys. They live without regular access to food or water, and no place to use the bathroom, wash their hands, bathe or do laundry.

People who are homeless are at greater risk of serious illness, mental health issues, substance abuse and violence.

Our pillars of care inlcude Meeting Basic Needs, Investing in Children, Making Health a Priority, and Strengthening Self-sufficiency.
