The Friends of the Redwood City Public Library is a 100% volunteer-based organization that sells pre-owned books and media to fund Redwood City Library programs like the Summer Learning Challenge, music programs, author programs, storytimes, crafts, and much more.

We are looking for friendly and reliable volunteers to staff our Bookstore at the Downtown Library, 1044 Middlefield Road. At the Bookstore, Friends sells donated books and media.

As a volunteer you will be chatting with customers and handling payment for purchases. Volunteers must be able to make change for cash purchases. [There is a calculator in the store if needed.]

At this time, Friends is looking for

1) volunteers who can commit to a 2-hour per week shift and/or

2) volunteers who will be on our substitute list for volunteers who cannot make their Bookstore shifts. Substitutes will be emailed weekly with a list of upcoming shifts that are open.

The Bookstore is a room next to the Library’s lobby which opens to the lobby and has an air purifier and ventilation.
