Do you have a good listening ear? Would you like to be able to volunteer from the comforts of your own home? Amedisys Hospice is currently looking for volunteers to join their Cheerful Checker Team. Volunteers would call patients and/or their families to check in on how they are doing and just be a listening ear. This could be done from home or from our office, whatever your preference is. Amedisys Hospice provides an individualized program of physical, emotional, spiritual and practical care for people in the last phases of an incurable disease, with an emphasis on control of pain and other symptoms. The program is reflective of a spirit and idea of caring that emphasizes comfort and dignity for the dying, making it possible for them to remain independent for as long as possible and in familiar surroundings.
