The Saints are volunteers for the performing arts. At the present time our 1500+ members serve well over one hundred Chicago and suburban theater, dance and music organizations, ranging in size from storefronts to world-class theaters, from seasonal musical groups to world-trotting dance companies.
The Saints members provide help to these groups for a variety of activities including ushering at performances and in return are allowed to attend these activities and performances at no charge. Members choose the venues and performances where they want to volunteer, as often as they like.
The Saints also awards financial grants to not-for-profit performing arts organizations located in Chicago and the surrounding area. In 2022, the Saints awarded more than $80,500 in grants to twenty-three different performing arts organizations. We also matched over $13,750 of our members' donations to such organizations.
SUMMARY: Join us for about $100 a year. You will then have access to a module that shows you dozens of drama, music or dance performances around the Chicago area. You can pick as few or as many as you'd like to attend. At the venue you spend about one hour to an hour and a half showing patrons to seats, taking their tickets, folding programs, and then when the performance starts the theater gives you a seat as a gift. Theaters desperately need this help, so this is a very enjoyable way to volunteer in Chicago for the arts!!!
